Well guys, I sunk myself into debt, at the tune of $45 a month and 3% interest.
Got me a winter vehicle-1984 custom deluxe. only options are power steering, and 4wd :smooch:
was owned by the city council of Etown, and has rust from all the salt they lay down in the winter.
it has the 305, th400, and 6 lug axles. No leaks when it is driven daily, doesn't burn oil, just needs tires, and new front axle seal-transfer case shaft seal and rear tranny shaft seal

 Paid 1650 for her and she runs strong and quietly with 130K on the clock, interior is stock and decent, has the headache rack, and big toolbox, saddle tank too-cost me $70 to fill up.

Will post pics after work-was going to buy an m1008 CUCV but my dad said no. He worked on them in the army and he was serious about never wantig to see another one in his life :annoyed:

You seem to have a heavy duty work horse there. What'cha gonna be hauling? Towing? Congratulations  Hope your gas mileage won't shock you too much :-O

did some digging and the truck spent some of its life in Canada, interesting Eh?
That would explain the rust on the rockers and fenders
Here are some pics- Interior is clean, and stock, nice duct tape upholstery work on the seat :-)
All I need are some tires- thinking about 31x10s or 32x11.50s :hmmm:

Thanks fuzz, I won't be towing or anything, I just need a winter vehicle-last christmas my monte went into a hedgerow and got scratched and dinged-and my underwear was destroyed as well-
Snow can be up to 8 inches, and snow 1-2.
My monte and s10 have gotten hung up on snow in the driveway before lol
The truck is good on gas, I crunched the numbers and it is getting a good 14-16 mpg city when not driven like a mad man. not bad considering my dads newer 2001 f150 gets 14 city :-)

Dude, that's a nice work truck. It definitely needs bigger wheels though.

That IS a nice duty truck. I especially like the head ache rack the the front & rear spot lights. I lived in New Albany, Indiana and drove to Ft.Knox for drill weekend. I know how the snow can get. I remember 19" of snow back in 1990 there and my poor little Toyota Tercel looked like a mole burrowing through the streets. Enjoy

Congrats. Love simple, but real cars. Im a big fan of the snow driving (even takin part in amateur snow rally :-D ) and know how important is to have a good 4x4 for those snowy beautiful days  . I prefer high but narrow tires for snow and ice. And last stupid question - is it auto or manual? cant see clear the pedals (on small netbook outdoor right now  ) . Love cheap and reliable cars  . I have powered windows and central locking on my winter car and hate that , still cant find time to strip that down  .
