Wow, this looks mean. Is it the same case from one of your previous boxes, and whats that box in your hand? the power supply?

yes the same box as before . just working on the final bits so i can wrap her up. i still have to brace the cabinet and put a switch in to switch from ac to dc power .

that box i'm holding is a 400 watt computer atx power supply.

Love the lighted DUAL badge. Are the speakers Dual?

nope just threw it on to liven it up a bit . the speakers are 6.5 car audio sub woofers and the outside speakers are sharps with pioneer tweeters.

i know the electronic part is not up to your standards but hey this is hillbilly tech  accidentally sounds fantastic !

it would be greater, if you put there an 80s ' car cd player ,like this Pioneer cdx-1 for example :-)

Oh wow! That ought to sound pretty darned good. Respect due in bucket loads for creating that beast.

Regarding the idea of using one of those cool '80s in-car CD head units instead though; I'm pretty sure that the way in which the newer CD head units read further ahead will work very much in favour of the overall quality of this box since potentially, those woofers could easily prevent the '80s machines from playing through a CD correctly as the '80s machines would struggle to read ahead far enough to hide the dropouts that the thumping from the woofers would surely cause, assuming that the woofers work as well as they look.
 ;-)

thanks fellas . actually going to put a cassette head unit in there ,just used that one because it was handy. i'm trying to save for an alpine unit but they still sell for good money
this kenwood head unit sounds awesome but the vibration and cone travel of the speakers rules out a cd head unit . this thing throws out a wave of air when you stand in front of it :-D

Says who?  Actually, there is nothing wrong with copying success and no sense in reinventing the wheel. If someone made good components already, yes, it's not as high techie as making your own but if it works great, then why the helll not? Nothing wrong with that at all, I'm all for it, heck yea I am! :-)

This pioneer eq is smoking hot mnt!!
Floyd I've been waiting for this thread a long time!! This is a piece of art in the making!! Love the subs in the center!! I had an Alpine sitting around for a while. Wish I knew you needed one. We could have worked something out. I still have my old system that came in my MDX that consists of all the interior woofers (6.5's and all Alpine!) and tweeters. The truck even came with a 10 inch sub that could probably fit in one of your creations if you need it. Hit me up bro. I owe ya for my Sharp woofers!! I don't mind returning favors.

Oh yeah, I guess there is no way to use a cd player

I got a killer Kenwood that is blue tooth, it accesses my Pandora account through my cell phone via 4G or wifi. I can basically stream any media from the internet as well as my mp3 collection on my phone. It's also got a remote. Of course it's got FM and CD. You can also change the led display to any color. Full 6 channels of adjustment, two channels being sub woofer.

EXTEREME and awsome! And good idea Monchichi regarding use of a Kaboom as you probably could fit a double DIN head unit if properly configured.

Perhaps the next move for Mr. Floyd? :hmmm: :-D
