Panasonic in the house. This is the smallest I could scan these pages and still have them somewhat readable.
I actually had two items out of this brochure - the RX-DS20 and the SL-NP500 portable CD player (those pages not scanned). The DS20 I bought new with my first real profits from electronics repair in 1990, and the NP500 was bought used from a pawn shop in 1996. A family member has the DS20 now, while the NP500 is sitting on a shelf collecting dust.
No line in? That's a pretty big oversight on their part. There's a DT680 up on eBay right now that was sort of tempting me, but I'm definitely going to pass now.
The DT-55 wouldn't be half bad. Might have to snag that one if I ever run across it, but only if it has the remote with it.
for whatever reason, despite the DT680 having 30W vs the DT690's 50 W, the DT680 sounds more powerful. It has more bass, deeper bass, and more thumping bass and can be turned all the way up with no distortion.
you can use the CD OUT terminals as a LINE IN too. All you do is play a data CD in the Cd Player hit the CD repeat button and hit play. The blank CD will continuously loop while your external source plays through the unit. I do this all the time with my Ipod playing through my DT-680. Sounds Gooood!!
