Very nice scores indeed  Let me say that I sold and traded lots of boomers in 2013 but I was able to retrieve some back by year end and now going into new year I have 2 that are in transit. Of course both are from another country so it takes a while. So here's a list of sales, trades and new buys :-D. Sit back n relax boys it's pretty long list

Wow! This thread is like a pictorial "How To" of boombox collecting and there's not a single box that I wouldn't be proud to have in my collection.

I've sold around 30 radios in 2013 but most were just radios, I only parted company with three boomboxes, two of them JVC 656s and one the 656's Thorn AKA (minus bass control), the Ferguson 3T13. That's what happens when you buy cheap examples with the intention of parting them out to make one minty example and the potential breakers turn up working and not needing much beyond recapping and a deep clean before they can go back into the wild.
But apart from tapping into the surprisingly buoyant JVC 656 market  I've only bought around half a dozen boxes all year including my extremely good sounding Toshiba RT9000S, a mint, boxed National Panasonic RS460SD to replace one that I've missed since it left me twenty years ago, another JVC PC11 that I only wanted for its back cover and a/f amp to make my twin amp, four speaker version but being a JVC, it turned up alive so was flipped and now stays with a friend who's rediscovered her cassette collection with it, then there's the cute JVC mini that has a hidden cassette deck in the middle of a telescopic cabinet, the M70 that isn't mine but is being repaired for a member who stays in Europe and is stalling because I'm struggling for some parts, a couple of clean and working Hitachis that look great but are allergic to bass, a Sharp 9090 that I bought, restored, enjoyed for a week or two then disassembled again when the mains psu failed in action so that's being rewound as soon as my TX winder is returned by whoever borrowed it in 2001...

I need a bigger house.

i only bought 1 boombox this year , nobody can beat that , a new high in lows lol.

my toshiba sx -1000 .the sx1000 has done a great job of keeping me from looking for more boxes because it's hard to upgrade from that.
one of these , not my pic i'm too lazy.

Congratulations to everyone on a fine year. I notice some folks online complaining about 2013 (not here.) Personally, I think it was a great year. If you If you have friends, family, your health (somewhat) and a personal grail, you have everything. You came out ahead of the curve, so to speak.

I didn't do to bad on the grail front. A big Ben, an M-X920, a 767, and a few others, for example. Radios that I am happy & lucky to have passed through my hands as they have brought me great enjoyment and awe. Also, deals with members, which are the best kind as the sound of the boomer becomes a shared experience. I'm so thankful for this board that allows me to compare opinions on these wondrous creations with some of the greatest friends one could wish for.

But I have to say that what it all comes down to for me is achieving my personal grail. A boombox I would never have thought I would ever find or be lucky enough to get a deal on that was within my reach. This ones a keeper, and is the one I compare all my boxes to now. This year , thanks to Ira, has been the best. A great philosopher once put it right when he said "Happy Happy, Joy Joy," because I definitely feel both:

I got an M-90. Made my year. :hooray:
