Expect triple digit weather!
We've been having record breaking weather over here, 100+ degrees for about 30 days straight.

I can't wait to get back to my beach city of Corpus Christi, Texas. Hopefully, Someday soon I guess. I miss the beach with my boombox, a 'Bucket o' Beers' and watching the scenery ;-) ;-) ....Never been to Plano though. I hope it's nice for you. Prepare for alot of humidity. Best wishes Amigo :-)

I just found out that Plano is less than an hour from some of my family in Texas. Maybe I need to visit them this Winter. :-D

I'm in Plano - thanks to Ira for the heads-up - I totally missed this thread  You'll like it here!
What kind of a job did your wife get? Quite a few huge companies have their corporate offices in Plano, like JC Penny, Dr. Pepper, Pizza Hut and so on

Plano is nice, it's full of money, but in terms of culture........not really sure about that........I'm no expert about it, but to me it's just a suburb.......everything is a chain store or restaurant......Williams Sonoma, Cheesecake Factory, etc........

It's for people who want a big house, a big lawn, and 2 or 3 SUVs. You seem like more of an Austin guy instead.

Plano is a great suburb. Good houses, and beautiful landscape.
It is a little far from Dallas though. And rush hour traffic doesn't help it at all. And on top, 100+ degree weather for months straight is hell.

I'd look for economic car if I were you. Cause commuting is a huge part.
If you're looking for a VW, then there's a local forum here in Dallas about euros. There's meets, show's and lots of other stuff.

Everyones mentioning Austin

I don't think I get a choice in which 'burb we get relocated

If it was up to me - i'd be moving to SoCal or NYC

I've been meaning to share this with you if you're up for a TEXAS sized challenge. :-D I watched it on a food network show called 'Man Vs Food'. Not sure if it airs where you're at. I plan to give it a hell of a try when I get there (someday soon). http://youtu.be/6Qx8CL_jW-4
