Tragic. Since the 911 attacks, I had been to so many terrorist and "active shooter" trainings and scenarios. I have had to use deadly force three times and I always feel "On Guard" or watching people 's behavior when I'm in public. I hate to live that way but, I want to be prepared. Sad I can't turn that mentality off. Sometimes NOT knowing or seeing so much is what I miss the most. I feel for these Victims very much. Especially the children. I would've taken one for the children. They're the ones most helpless. I was at a Baseball Minor League game last night when a Security Officer asked me to take my pocket knife to my car. I respectively obliged but thought, a person with the right tactical training could do more harm without any gun or knife. Sad world. My two cents :sadno:

I "personally" think the US government needs to do something soon in regards to "guns"...there are MORE guns in the US than there are people...to me that's a HUGE problem...the US also builds more prisons, than schools...craziness

"guns don't kill people, people kill people"

What's even more interesting to me is that nobody's talking about the rising murder rate in Chicago...

You try to do the math on that.

i think the people in this country are so used to violence in tv and movies they are basically robots. when an old man can die in the streets and nobody helps him because they just don't give a crap .

i can not remember the last movie i saw that wasn't full of 75,000 explosions and flames and women shooting guns nice role models for the kids huh? and this is what we call entertainment.

guns don't kill people . i ain't never seen a gun jump up on it's own and chase somebody down the street. and back in the old west you never heard of this because every man was armed and you didn't start shlt unless you wanted to die and they would ablidge you ass quick.
like archie bunker said would you feel any better if those people were pushed out of windows instead.

so i guess it's smart to blame the guns and not the maniacs ?

i'm sure a dude with a dump truck could do more damage than a gun if he wanted too but dump trucks are not blamed when lunatics run 50 people down in the street.

Honestly, sometimes, I love watching people get shot the phuck up in movies and TV...

Guns are COOL... for movies and TV, doesn't make me wanna cop guns and go out and shoot people tho 'cause that's fiction!

In reality, I personally know too many people throughout the years (some blood related) who aren't around anymore because of gun violence...

Speaking of the most recent, a former co-worker got shoot multiple times in the chest in late February... http://www.myspace.com/494223903 http://www.eternalhonors.com/i.php?id=1932

Also, this kid used to work with me months ago... http://www.metro.us/philadelphia/local/ ... h-argument

Cats die damn near everyday in my world... Everyday I step out the house, I know I can get shot up for next to nothing...

Ain't a damn thing cool about that!

:agree: :agree: I was going to mention that. I recall the Virgina Tech shooter that had no opposition to engage him while he targeted innocent college students on campus. I'm not a gun fanatic but, He KNEW it was going to be as easy as shooting fish in a barrel with the school's 'NO GUNS ON CAMPUS' rule. One thought came to mind about the Movie. BATMAN was a comics book hero as I recall, and parents are taking 6 y.o. children to see all this violence, expolosions, etc. on the big screen? I heard someone had a 4 month old there  Children under 10 would get PTSD watching something that loud and explosive  Am I alone in thinking these Comic book hero movies have sadly, become too violent for small children to watch these days? Add to that 3D where the carnage seems to come at them :hmmm: They'd poop their undies.

I Am Legend
these weerdo crazy aholes should only shoot themselves.
------------------------------

around here --we have plenty of kids movies with huge MIDNITE openings-

i often drive them there --then pick them up at 2 AM-
its an extra thrill for the kids to be up and out and about that late-

maybe its a dangerous new tradition ?

I remember reading a sign that read (paraphrased) 'Anti-Gun Laws are only obeyed by the Law abiders'. :-/

It's really hard to say if video games, movies and music are making people crazy or violence.

IMHO, I don't think so. I think that the real role models of this world, the people who set the bar so F'n low are our world leaders and corporate leaders. As our world get's tougher and the pressure of day to day life becomes more paralyzing, the crazies get crazier and the disparate fall right over the edge.

It's not just the US. Canada has seen gun violence this year, Europe as well. I'm certainly not going to even try to defend the US and their crazy gun laws and the US is far from the murder capital of the world, that award goes to Honduras, but as people get more and more squeezed more of this seems to happen.

OR, maybe this is the calmest it has ever been. Considering there are 7 billion people on the planet, violence between people percentage wise could be low and it's just everyone with a video camera capturing all. I just do know.

I do agree, people taking their kids to see this is total BS.

I heard that the movie trailer the audience saw before Batman was a movie about Gangsters and in one scene men with machine guns cut down everyone in a movie theater! :-O

I lived in Aurora, CO for 3 years - still have some friends there. Crazy news. People like this shooter deserve public execution - preferebly using some middle ages torture device.
