Hey folks! First post here. I recently won a Magnavox D8443 from fleaBay in decent condition. The radio tuner works well with a bit of cracking when playing with the adjustments (volume, bass, treble, etc.). The cassette player was playing a tape until I realized it was eating the tape! The spool was not advancing as it should. I broke it down last night and found a gear severely deteriorated. The gear is discolored and had a tacky/sticky feel and the two-part gear sheared off into two separate gears (see pics of the orangish gear). Forward and reverse work just fine. With some research on Boomboxery I found that this is a fairly common flaw. The post led me to Vintage Volts' 3D printed gear replacement on Shapeways (https://www.shapeways.com/product/DR5QFL7AJ/d8443-gear). Just waiting on the part to come in so I can get this baby playing some tapes!

They were some off beat ones i found on Amazon. Truth be told, the sound quality sucks. i will be going back to the stockers. They look awesome otherwise. The amps don't have enough power to wake them up.

Pretty poorly drawn gear IMO, the teeth are nothing like the original.
If if gives you problems, I'd be happy to draw it better

I have purchased a few gears from a couple different sources and while they seem ok they are a bit smaller than original. They work but you can hear slight grinding from slippage and auto stop mechanisms don’t work.
