I still love the look on these and believe or not you can re-record on these over and over and they will perform quite well!

I still remember not being able to eject a heavy arse MA-XG from the deck in my dad's brand new car! Ended up damaging the eject motor in the process. Had to go back to the car dealer to pull the deck to get the tape out! :-)

My dad was not impressed!! 😆👎

Yea I never knew there was such a saying as "dam this tape is heavy" Couldn't believe how heavy it is.
It's never been recorded on but was opened.

I still have some MA-XGs and possibly one of the original MA-Rs in one of my many boxes of tapes.
Never seen an SA-XG, pretty sure they weren't on general sale in the UK. Nice looking bit of kit : )

The tape itself used to break (normally within a few minutes from the start/end of the tape).

It could have been the deck. Some decks were known not to handle these very well because of the weight.

i never had an issue with MA'.

i never had an issue with MA'.Hmmm...... Apart from that one time I played it in my dads car, I only ever used MA-XG tapes in my parents high end HiFi deck as my boombox at the time couldn't handle metal tapes.

It was weird how the tape never broke at the very end but 30 seconds to 1 minute from each end. That HiFi deck was near new at the time and didn't cause other brands of tape to break!? Who knows. Maybe my local batch of MA-XGs were faulty!?
