I know you guys search high and low for original replacements and I wanted to share that I found a few sets worth of original JVC antennas that almost match the original M70 antennas ;-) .

I purchased 2 just to have a set to check against my original M70 antennas. They are the exact size, length, metal tip, and I think the sections are the same too. The only difference is that the antennas I just bought don't have that extra 1/4" space between the tip and the first section :-/ .

I will take pictures tonight when I get home, but I was wondering if people would be interested in them even though they are a tad different, but they are still JVC brand antennas? I don't need any of these and I only bought them to compare. They sell for about $13 + tax each + shipping (ups ground $9.99 for 2). I was going to buy and re-sell but at the price they sell them for + shipping it wouldn't make any sense for me to bother plus I don't want to markup the price for you guys. I will send back my set and let you guys buy outright if anyone is interested or I can sell my set to someone here. If I sell my 2 to someone here, there are only 4 more antennas available at the source.

Here is the "picture" they put up. It looks like it would be a perfect match but I called and asked if they could send me a picture of the actual antenna, they said no. So I asked "does this cartoon looking drawing represent what I am getting with a metal tip and the proper section lengths?". They said yes, they look just like the picture...... well, no they don't.

I don't know... $36 for two non-original antennas seems like a lot of money. :-/ I think I'd rather offer $40 to a member here and get the real things.

^ that's what I was thinking too on the price for them $36 seems like it's pushing the limit of "value" - The things going for them is that they are JVC brand antennas, NEW, the correct lengths open/closed, girth, and come with the mounting posts too. Red tip antennas are a crap shoot, they don't really "fit" the box too well in length and are cheaply made. Waiting for an absoloute 100% M70 from a donor box could take FOREVER! ;-) Another nice thing is that because I bought them to inspect fit/quality and to see how reliable/fast the company ships them I will be able to give a fantastic review and transactions should go very smooth from this seller  . I got mine in 2-3 days from when I called about them.

These should fit some other JVC boxes too. I think my 838 has the same antennas as the M70 :hmmm: .

I will get the pics up in about 4 hours so you guys can see them. If no one wants my set after they see what they are like, then I will send them back to the company.

Wowzers - I just found out that the company sold out today! I have the only 2 left! :-O

I had GZ interested in mine and another member PMd me so I am sure my set will sell too.

Here is the info on the antenna part number:

It is pretty close. The M70 antenna has one more section and at full length is about 3" longer :-/ . The diameter of the shaft that would be clipping into the antenna holders at the top of the rear case of your boombox of the new antenna is just a hair smaller.

Still a close match :hmmm: - It's your call. It's better than 99% of what what you can find for replacements and it is still a JVC product .

Mine sold :-/ - I guess they are all gone now from MCM so if you need some hopefully all those part numbers will get you close to finding something.

I wish I knew the original M70 antenna part number :hmmm: .
