We just got back from a weekend in the Mountains!!!
This saturday morning I was having a very nice PM conversation about my Sony WM-F1 with Nicole (Walkgirl)
when all of a sudden my wife got a text message "beep" from her cousin saying that it was snowing in the mountains!!!
I was taking a shower and was getting ready to spend a nice Boombox Weekend at home (repair, music-listening, etc.)
but when she told me about it, I told her that we should go! Specially since Jerly (my wife) has never seen the snow.
So we had a VERY quick breakfast and headed to the mountains packing only the basics:
water, sandwiches, and my Japanese Victor M50 - Jerly took her iPod nano :annoyed: |-)
Since my little car's stereo died quite a while ago (I know!!! I'm looking for a Pioneer KP-9000) I put "Victor" in the back seat with some fresh "D" food and drove while listening to some original cassettes. The first one I popped in was one that came from Vienna's FleaMeister Roman - Michael Jackson Off the Wall!!!
We drove about 2-3 hours high into the Mountains and the cold was getting REAL intense (Note: I've been to Colorado while snowing, this sh!t was way more intense, it's super-humid AND pretty high altitude... very little oxygen... but Michael was hittin' them high notes!
So when we got there we met up with Jerly's cousin and a young aunt that were there too.
Here are some pics we took, ENJOY!!!
StrÄnj driving, Jerly (co-pilot), Aleia (hot cocoa-pilot), Victor (backseat, peeking through!)
Gettin' ready for the cold, puttin' the boots on...
Aleia was the first photographed when we got there with her cousin Jean-Paul... it ain't snowing
Those big plants in the background are called "Frailejon" (Espeletia) they grow in the very high Andes.
Laurenis (Wifey's cousin with her son)
StrÄnj-BÅÅmbÅks Chillin'.... LITERALLY... Brrrrr!!! 13thousand+ feet... (4thousand+ meters)
With a little snow we grabbed from the road...
The StrÄnj Family
Her very first snowman...
Some mo' chillin' with the R2D2-JVC-Cassette Popped in!!! (Side A: Hip-Hop / Side B: 80's Hits) =
In the backround monument called "Condor Peak" has been there since 1925...
Some of Jerly's family givin' the local kids some change for candy...
StrÄnj-BÅÅmbÅks havin' a real good time with them... they really got a kick out of the digital camera!
I'll soon be posting a vid too! Goodnight, I'm beat!!! :unknown:
