Hello - Anyone know where I can find a user's manual for the Sanyo M 9990? I can't seem to figure out how the timer/sleep functions work.

Thanks in advance!

:hi: :hi: :hi: hi welcome to the site... yes the sanyo 9990 is an awesome box ,, they can be a bit complicated but mostly the timers are for using the cassette while listening to the radio it will shut it of depending the lenth of tape ,, not sure on the 9990 it also has the clock feature ,, i have to dig out mine to see :-)

Welcome aboard, bigolac. Most times, the sleep function works like this:

1) Activate the "Sleep" switch on the boombox

2) Select "Radio"

3) Put in a cassette of any length and press PLAY

The radio will be activated and you can listen to it as long as the tape is playing (you won't hear the tape). When the cassette stops, the radio will turn off automatically. It's useful for those times when you want to fall asleep while listening to music.

The M9990 is not like that Bobby. The feature you mention is for 90% of the boomboxes but this one has a special built in digital clock on the upper left corner of the window which also functions as a timer / alarm / sleep feature. I have never used it though.

Here are a few really quick pics of the box - I've figured out how to set the time, but the rest seems a little above me for the moment....

I've figured I can connect my nano to the aux in, put in a blank cassette, push record and pause, and play away! Just got it this afternoon.

if you've got any info about the timer functions, I'm all ears....

Does the date code sticker signify it was produced in 1978? Just wondering when this behemoth was made!

Holy cats, that's perfect! I just tested the alarm, and it works, although the alarm sounds out of one speaker, perhaps this is normal....

If you have the rest of the manual scanned, let me know - I'll send you my email...

Thanks!!!
