I just bought the first high quality boombox since years, the Sanyo M 9994LU. That one is my benchmark now in quality. I know Panasonic also made some (more modern, with CD) boxes that sounded really great. Can anyone here point out some Panasonic (or JVC, or... whatever) very good ones that at least match the build quality and sound quality of the M 9994? Should have at LEAST radio and cassette, or radio, cassette and CD.

I rave about the Panasonic RX-39L; a smaller sized box but BIG sound and clarity to boot!

If it's the one with the pop-up microphones on the top I couldn't remember the model number.
Lol, that's it.
I've had a 5150, 5250 and 5350s but my 7700s are my favorites.
They're classy and have an almost military look and feel.

For Panasonic one-piece boxes, it's a tossup between the RX5350 and the RX7200.
For 3-piece systems, the RX-XE520 was probably the best.
