I have a new i931BTQ (black w/chrome accents). I am disappointed with the sound quality. I know that I'm never going to get sparkling sound from this box. However, I'd like to make whatever improvments I reasonably can. I have been searching and reading posts to find a solution. I have adjusted the settings (preset eq, bass & treble, eq sliders) and still can't come up with something that sounds very good. I've read about adding venting and this is something I may try. I saw where one person bypassed the wiring for the preset eq. Not sure if I'm up for that.

Does anybody have other suggestions?

Hoping for some input here. I came here because of all the expertise your board claims to posess and willingness to share that that knowledge also touted by this board. Come on you so-called willing experts. If you just clam up then anyone new here who comes seeking knowledge will just go away. Is that what you want?

Well for one you need to chill on your attitude and expecting answers right away :nonono: not many members have the new Bluetooth unit so can't answer you. I have 3 and am very happy with sound. I don't expect much from Lasonic units because the price is more reasonable then JVC Kabooms, Altec Lansing's and TDK's. so if your looking for better build quality and high end sound you need to look at other manufacturers. Good luck

I just got one. Mine is almost unlistenable at lower volumes. Do they all sound like the music is being played through a microphone on a windy day? I would be happy with just ok sound quality without the wooshing sounds this unit seems to add to output. It kind of sounds like someone is scratching a silent but worn section of vinyl. It happens with all inputs i tried (usb,sd,bt). I tried adjusting eq, bass, treble - still sounds like dookie. Just a thought - the look of this is ok (i got the Tron -black/blue/orange) - but it would be "dope" if it was offered in a classic old school flat silver & chrome color combo.

lol Bill you should play the lottery with awesome odds like that.. all 3 of the ones i grabbed had the same sh*tty sound issue.. exactly the same.. and after the EQ fix.. they were fine.. Funky describes it the best.. what he hears is exactly what i was hearing..

If you're primarily playing music from your iP* device through it, grab the EQu app. It made an amazing difference to the sound of my i931:

It and Dub Siren DX are the apps I use most on my iPod!
