Absolutely incredible, Mr Groove! Congratulations!!
That's one superb range of everything portable!!

It's great when one of these stories actually pan out, as TSHORBA said the other day to me, "how many of the stories
like Mr Groove's have we heard over the years and then nothing happens?"

That's what happens with most of the tales of the lost cities of boombox gold it seems.

But having one work out so awesome is just fantastic!! Well done! And blast them in good health!

Rock On.

You know, when I read the first thread about him going to look at this collection I thought to myself. I hope he takes pictures. I figured Mr Groove would go to this collectors house, buy a radio or two, but I was just hoping for pictures. The fact that he was able to buy them ALL is just so exciting. It makes "ME" feel good, and I did was read the thread!

It still just blows my mind that 30 years later there are still "Brand New" radio's to be found in this world

There is nothing new on the market that can rival these old stock N.I.B. radios. I doubt we will ever see any new radio come down the line that ever will either!

For me its also a wonder that someone has collected these radio's in the eighties and never used them..especially when you take a look at the invoices..the Aiwa was almost a 1000 dutch guilders way back in the eighties and that is even today a lot of money..the smaller boxes were 500/600/700 dutch guilders..also a lot of money! The collector had a very good job and dito income, for a person with a normal job it was impossible to collect these grails..

I totally agree, it floors me that someone spent that kind of money and didn't use it, but look at what a gift he gave to the future!

It took me all whole day to photograph them and get them out of the boxes and get them in again..most of the boxes are mint and never used..i am planning to use the boxes one at a time and then i will make some close-ups once and a while..so stay tuned!

I'll bet that collector was happy to sell to another collector. That's what I would want, too if I were in his/her shoes.
