My keeper is my JVC RC-550 thats my favorite box.To me a keeper is a box you want to past down to one of your kids so they can enjoy it as much as you did

I have several "keepers" ...my M70's, M71, M90 to name a few. Truth be told I keep my collection small enough so that all my boomers can remain keepers... ...and my definition of a keeper....my stunning M90.

To me KEEPER means Keep'er away from Ira. 
I think of keepers as boxes that are going to be with me until I've had enough of boomboxes, I die, or I've screwed myself and need money to eat and even then there's always the option of dumpster dining.

to me --a keeper would have some 'emotional' attachment -
like a good friend gave//sold or worked on it--
then - i have sold plenty of 'non-emotional' keepers-
just for the money or the space or because another member-friend
wants it even more
as far as pass keepers on to my family --
well - mine are a bunch of num- skulls who only like discolites--
so thats what they will get

My whole family thinks I'm a little off kilter for collecting these boxes so I doubt more than one or two would even want any of them. When I die if a boombox collector comes to my estate sale they will crap their pants, everybody else will wonder if I the old man was insane.

My first box would be a keeper...purely for the sentimental value. Anything else is fair game
