Ok, I did order and received a new batch of JVC buckles. So at some point, I will have new straps again. However, as I'm scheduled for more surgery again tomorrow morning, and will need physical therapy after it's healed, it could be some time before that happens, maybe a couple of months. So new straps are coming, provided I survive the surgery.
BluFuz did make up a batch for me ( Thank You! ), but they are mild steel, requires significant clean up, and then plating... However, after consideration of how much work it would take to get them finished and then the cost of getting commercially plated, I decided to go a different route that requires a little less work for me. These are now cut from 6061T high strength aluminum alloy. About the same strength as mild steel but will never rust, and is a softer metal relatively speaking so maybe less likely to scratch the boombox, although metal is still metal. Overkill for what they are going to be used for, and more costly for the same sized product compared to mild steel but it'll be less work and that makes all the difference.
