JVC RC-M90 tweeter and woofer needed

I too am looking for a new tweeter And a woofer! for my JVC M90. Both on right side (front facing) are very diminished. Left side is booming! Please LMK of any suppliers/possibilities....Thanks!

Both woofer and tweeter on one channel gong bad is not common. Are you sure it is due to bad tweeter and woofer? Did you switch the speakers and see if that is the case?

It could be a fault with one channel! In some cases, a good switch cleaning can solve the problem.

If one channel is acting up its usually the function switch. I've had to fiddle with it many times when one side isn't coming in clear. I would check the headphone. To see if the sound comes through on both channels. The m90 function switches do get oxidized and you have to hit the sweet spot for both channels to play right.

Also you didn't mention what the vu meters are showing. Playing a cassette both sides should move.

I'm also curious about this due to the VU meters playing up on mine - sometimes they are on, sometimes not and if you move the function switch a bit or even the volume knob they seem to get contact. Is there a way to clean the function switch from the front by spraying contact cleaner or do you need to disassemble?

Ok, thanks! I think I can be brave enough to do a basic disassembly. When I do that, would I need to disassemble each switch to its component parts, or can I spray through the openings in and around each switch? I read somewhere that a physical clean-up with fine sandpaper is better but I feel it’d be safer with deox.

90% of the time, deoxit is fine when sprayed through the holes. However, breaking down the box sufficient to access the pots is a real pain in the keester on the M90 because the innards don’t come out as a complete assembly on the M90. Also many M90s now have deteriorating pot innards where the internal feelers are loose or detached leading to failure or poor performance. Reattaching these is difficult because it’s hard to realign them perfectly, just an fyi.

Switches have a tendency to build up contamination over time and all spray does it move it around, so the ideal solution is take the switch apart for a good scrub with a gentle abrasive like toothpaste or polishing compound. Sandpaper could remove any protective metal plating on the contacts
