These JVC M-75s pop up once in awhile, but do we have an idea what or how many members have one? I can think of maybe 3-4 of them and I stupidly missed out on one on epay months ago.

Just wondering. I know it's just a glorified M70 and you can mod a Victor M70 to act like a M75. Different editions of essentially the same type of box are kind of fun to collect. They are all fun and different in their own aspect.

I know Joel "71spud" has at least a couple of them.
I worked on one for him a while ago.
It looks to be bascially a goldish colored M70.
The internals are exactly the same as a M70.

Missed out on a couple of those M75's as well since I've been on the gold kick.

And how do the M50's compare to an M70? There's actually one for sale just a few miles away from me. Just so rare to have the chance to see one in person before buying, I almost feel like I have to get it.

The m50 sounds pretty good, but not as good as the m70 "IMHO".

The gold M70 is the M71. The gold M70 with the 3 knobs below the cassette is the M75. The Victor M70 has the same 3 knobs but is silver, only 90FM tuner, and is 100v box.

I know spud has a lot of JVCs but I don't remember him having a M71 or a M75..... hmmm. Looks like its time to invade Spuds for a mini meet! Lol

I agree, the M50 is an entirely different sounding box. Good looking box. If local and cheap I would buy it too! ;)

Interesting thread...

So the M75 is basically an American version with 3 knobs, a 120v transformer and 106 tuner. Are all the M75's Gold?

Yep Chris, the M75 is like the Victor M70 but US spec and gold. You can mod your Victor M70 to be like the M75. Norm calls it the 'poor mans M75

Yeah, I have thought of converting my tuner dial. There have been times where I wish my M70 had a usable tuner. If I ever come across the parts I might do it.

I really thought about swapping my Victor from 90 to 108FM too. I actually have all the parts here to do it, just don't know if I really want to anymore......
