I just received this JVC PC-X1000 and although it's in very used shape it surprisingly didn't suffer any damage in shipping. One corner of the box was split open exposing one of the speakers which had absolutely no padding. Although I probably had expectations that were a little too high this is one cranking boombox looking stereo, it's styled like it's portable siblings. I have some restoration work to perform but overall I think this will be a worthy project.

Good job M.B!
it's a eavy beast isn't it?
I was watching that on Ebay too, just to see what it was going to sell for. :ebay:
my friend had one of these back in the early 1990's.
My wife and I were ready to but one to,but I settled on a Sony CFD770 because it could take batteries and sounded very similar. :-/
I always wished I would have gotten the PC-X1000 instead though........ ;-)
I have one of these that I got from Floyd and it is pretty minty.
I have the owners manual and the remote.
Congrats on your new beasty.......

Thanks guys, I remember seeing these in the stores years ago but rarely ever see them for sale anywhere now. :hmmm:

Skippy you know it's a heavy beast, nothing portable about the weight. :nonono:
I would love to find a minty one like yours but I just never see these for sale, even eBay. Since this one was fairly close the shipping cost was low but I think the seller might have under charged a little anyway, that's probably why he packed it so poorly.
