JVC PC-X1000, V pot - CD drive fix.

Hi all my first post here..
Literally got mad and tired of this crackling on the Left channel I did try DeoxIT gold G5 for 2 days.

CD not even spinning turns out to be as simple as cleaning the optical laser lens but to get inside that was whole another story.
Anyways still having a bit of issue with what appears to be CD drive dampers/absorbers thanks to the subwoofer mounted under...

I am impressed with the sound quality now I did however fixed a cold solder joint on the speaker output connector.

Next thing on my to-do list .....JVC p#111 CD cushion
The dampers/absorbers CD drive changer mechanism needs some type of repair.

Well I fix the CD drive issue I can blast the volume to the max and no music skipping..
Now the CD drive changer has a suspension from RC Truck (just another hobby lol).

This is turning into JVC PC-X1000 full blown restoration
Next thing on my to-do list Tactile Switches... DeoxIT gold G5 not helping me or at least does not seem to work for more than a day.

You might try what the guy did in this video.
He pushed a piece of rubber tubing over the switches so that he could operate them while they're submerged in contact cleaner.

@caution Thanks for the YouTube video... After whooping 20 tactile switches hack repair I am proud of myself.

To get to the TUNER/BAND buttons I had to remove all the guts on the bright side I managed to fix the cassette mechanism (new belts).

Judging by the yellowing of the white plastics and discolouration of the wires is it safe to say that the interior smells like a damp ashtray?

I can handle dirt, dust and allsorts but the stink of some tech from a smokers house really turns my stomach

Since this JVC was stuck in music studio for more than 3 years I'm sure it's more than just cigarettes smoke
