Hello, just recently picked up a JVC RV-B55GY and it did not come with any remote was wondering if you need, if so where would I find one at.

Maybe eBay. You can't get them new anymore. Or sometimes, 3rd party generic compatible remotes will work.
ok, so i checked on ebay theres ones for other models, does it need to be from the same model or not?
You need RM-RXVB55. Search now and then, they come up once in awhile. I suspect other kaboom remotes will probably work because I’ve noticed that they are at least somewhat compatible (on the larger kabooms) but nobody knows for sure, you’ll just have to try.

I have had several models of the Kaboom up to NB-10 and all remotes I owned worked with all boxes. I didn't try ALL models with every remote but chances are high that they work. There are are differences in the functions though. I can't remember but something like the EQ-presets didn't respont and the like. The main functionality like play, stop, volume etc. worked though.
