i got one of these a while back and am now using it to punish the neighbors , i actually have 3 different models that all pretty much sound the same , which is ****ing bad ass! . this will piss on anything and laugh at it , i know its not a boombox but the ****er will be glad to engage any sony fh in battle , better eat you wheaties because this just makes the fh7 sound like a transistor radio. i love dem sony's but **** on a shingle this beast just breathes bass.

That's cool, I always wondered about those models. Some of them seemed pretty ridiculous looking, but it was fun wondering what each of the holes was for.

There is an even more powerful model MXGT700, with 2 x 110 watts for the subs, and 2 x 55 watts for the main speakers.

The HX-GD8 appears to be the top dog. 2 x 195 watts for the subs, and 2 x 80 for the main speakers.

mine also records from cd's to tape / aux in to tape / fm to tape . oh and it dubs cassettes. not too bad for a modern stereo, and the recording sound quality is very good.
