Long story short....

A friend of mine is doing the 24 hour Relay For Life walk for Cancer. Volunteer teams are walking around a high school running track from 10am today through 10am tomorrow, http://www.relayforlife.org

I was over there today and did some laps for the cause, but I just got a text, asking if I can come over tonight with a boombox as they will be shutting the sound system down at 10pm :w00t:

It is my job....dare I say my DUTY to provide these people with music while they walk!

And nothing looks better at night then the Lasonic TRC-935....or should it be the Victor M70 with the Superduper lighting kit?

OR BOTH

I'm off to save the event from silence :super:

You better go with both to guarantee all is going to turn out right.
What music are you going to play? Chariots of Fire, maybe?

Hey Guys.....Well...It was a late night...but it was cool and for a good cause.

I have to say, the people that run this event do an amazing job. They had things scheduled all night to keep the people moving all night long. They had a full stage set up with a band stand and after the music stopped, they set up a 12 foot movie screen and were showing movies!

When I rolled in, there were allot of people there taking turns walking...the goal...each of the 37 teams had to have at least one member walking for 24 hours.

I ended up taking the TRC-935 mostly for the night time eye candy and because I have it set up for BluTooth with my phone and if need be...the shear volume!

Well as it turned out, volume wasn't needed as many of the people that had been there walking all day were crashing out in their tents to get some rest before they had to get up and walk in the early morning hours....

So, there was no SERIOUS blasting involved....At first I just tuned into a local radio station, but later the event people started broadcasting on a radio frequency so everyone with a radio could tune in together.

For the most part the volume was kept low, but the later it got, the more it was keeping people alert which was what they needed.

I did some laps with the team....it was cool...again, for a good cause...the American Cancer Society, raising funds for research.

I stayed until around 1:30am and then headed home, taking the 935 with me. I got a round of applause and "Thank You's" and when I walked through the front gate to leave the two older ladies working there said "Cool Boombox"...Yep, chicks dig it!

Sorry there are no pictures....It was night time and everything was lit with glow sticks and flash lights.
