Got them in a trade deal with another collector

Did a trade on 4 of my boxes - curiousity made it easier to part with some of my bigger boxes

but as I have not had a 777 or a 9000 - I figured it was time to sample the hype and time to enjoy the look and sound of these monsters

first impressions

the 777 is a motherhumping monster - and the subs really work :w00t:

The 9000 isn't as bad as I imagined either

Thanks D

I had to give away 3 boxes for the 777 - I know they command respect (due to size) - but I was a little skeptical, but damn it, it just goes one louder!

- in case you're curious on the exchange rate - I gave away a Philips 8644 (personal grail only recently acquired), Crown CSC850 and a Hitachi TRK 8600 for the 777

and I gave away my avatar Telefunken for the GF9000

Swapping is so much better than handing over "dirty" cash

I do however need a battery cover for the 9000 - as it has a non original one
The 9000 is a better quality 850 by the sounds of it

It was a good deal both ways

My Crown, Hitachi, Philips and 'Funken were all in greats in my collection/eyes

I am well happy just to be in the 777 club - it wasn't really a model I was interested in

But I stand enlightened - it sounds as BIG as it looks

Great deal you made. Very sweet lookin' 777 and 9000
Although some people don't like the 9000 , i still like mine a lot.
I did a lot of SW listening with the 9000 the last days. Very good performer on SW for an analog tuner
Almost as good as the Grundig satellit 700

it was VERY difficult as I had only just got it
and it was a personal grail I have ;longed for

but in this game of collecting boxes that I play - it is about patience not money
