What a relief! Glad the fuse was the right one. Good lesson learned. When I got my RX 5230 from Jens voltage check was the first thing I did. It is safe to hook 240v tap to 120V at least wont burn up anything. It had115 -130v tap that I really liked besides the 100-110 also. When I checked the house voltage it was 120V. I am sure Bill might have left a note to change voltage settings before use. :-O :w00t:

Actually Scott and I discussed it in PM's as I told him it was selectable but I didn't know where switch was. I never thought to look on bottom :hmmm: But in all seriousness I had to pack n ship like 15 boxes and voltage selection was last thing on my mind. But it just goes to show that when you get a box you need to check everything before plugging in including voltage in, volume, power switch etc...
Bill I know you go above and beyond to help. I am glad the box is now safe. It would have been a big disappointment if a treasured box goes bad in the first attempt to power up.

Glad it was just the fuse!

Another gotcha: if using a wall-wart on a Japanese (100VAC) blaster, determine DC pin polarity. The Victor RC-550 has a negative pin unlike almost all other blasters - Japanese or not!

Go!

Thanks for the comments guys. I've learnt a huge lesson from this.
She's all back together with a replacement fuse and working as intended.
The transformer is okay for now...only time will tell how it fairs down the track.
