I agree! I wonder how long it took him to make that video. Stop-motion filming is not a fast project by any means.

here are some 2013 turnings , etc made this past season by a talented pack of 75 - 88 year old dudes --
and without some of that pro//industrial machinery --
hard to believe --that here in our trailer - this is just the annual ' routine ' production :-O :-O :-O

I had never seen anything like this before. Never knew how this stuff was made.

Yep, you got some real talented people there to make such beautiful functional art!

and here is some incredible scroll saw work -
this old guy has to remove and replace the blade about 100 times !!!!

Wow Ira, that is incredible. You can't learn that in a day! My hat is off to all the guys that have the skill and the patients to create such art work.

Dude you have to go to Florida and see the shop LIVE! I had the privilege to do just that and Ira is just as talented (still a hack...but a talented hack :lol: ) and you should see some of his more serious work. :-D

three of our community shop members were former woodworking instructors from high schools up in canada and
upstate NY -
and several live on farms up north ( in the summers ) and they come down here with hardwoods cut from their own
trees -
so we have plenty of help -
and tons of oak , cherry, maple, elm , etc
with their help - i have made a few serious quality ocean worthy boats

I bet that would be so cool. My father is a woodworker but not to this level. But enough to pass down the love of working with my hands. I took that to cars. Took autoshop, double period, 3 years in high school.

That has to be a serious pool of technical ability.

its one of the rare bennies of being an old fossil--- :-)
young folks never have the 20 - 100 free hours to relax and plan and do these artsy//fartsy projects
