Well, it's been almost a year since I came back from Colorado with my JVC RC-828 that I scored for a super-deal, this trip was no exception! Last weekend I drove out there to visit family, (which I convinced to go with me to flea markets) found this JVC PC-11 at a flea market with no speakers or handle, that they had hooked up to some home stereo cabinet speakers and were using it to provide music for the store! I offered them 10 bucks and they helped me unplug it..
The next day I met up with a guy to do a craigslist deal, he was running on "CP Time" cuz his "I'll be there in 10 minutes" turned into an hour of me waiting around.. But he finally showed up with this battered JVC RC-550! It plays tapes and radio tunes a lot of stations even with the antenna broken off, but the top handle is gone and so is a chunk of casing on the bottom right corner..
But, for 100 bucks I can't complain.. I will restore it/ customize it real soon! I always wanted one...
I used it to provide the music for my Niece's 4th Birthday, (which was the real reason I was visiting) and everyone remarked how they've never seen anything like it before..
I gave the Japan-issued SANYO ROBO to her as a gift, which she likes to sing into the microphone with echo-effect and use the cat/dog drum pad.. She can even say the word "Boombox" now!
The next day we hit some more flea markets, I let my niece play a tape I just got in her SANYO ROBO, so she was jammin some Coolio during the road trip!
The main score that day was this Harman Kardon Home stereo receiver I got for super cheap, with original Owner's Manual!
Seen this sign after picking up the receiver...
