Heyya, =)

Below are a few pics of my latest aquisition. I may or may not keep it as my plans often change, day to day.

It's missing the condensor mic 'fins' for the right mic but everything else is in great shape. Just got a fresh ePay score for a little more than you guys would probably pay but it's a 'diamond in the rough' to me. It arrived safe & sound from a Quebec seller so the shippping was less than 20 bucks. The tuner window was smeared by, I'm guessing, solvent or some sort of cleaner but some Novus #2 Scratch Remover & # 1 Cleaner worked wonders. Aside from a very few, very light, hard to notice scratches, the tuner & cassette windows are really clear & clean . The sliders all work perfectly which was 1 of my worries when purhcasing & there is absolutely no 'pops' dropouts or crackling when using the volume, bass. treble, etc. I haven't tried the Rec sliders yet as the cassette has some issues to sort out. The Radio & Line-In works like new & the Bass & treble work good. I get a little bit of uneven sound from the treble when I set it below(cut) "0" so I might look into the caps to see if any are leaking or deformed.

The cassette has the usual belt issues but all functions engage & work ok, as far as I can tell. There is a slight flywheel scraping noise somewhere & I probably have to have it serviced, lubed & belted to get it back to working like new.

Ok, here's the pics:

Thanx for the kind words. I'm excited to crack it open & look around. I bet it's pretty clean. I post some more pics when I have it open.

Stay Tuned!! :breakdance:

Why would you not keep it?! It looks in really good nick and reasonable working order. I remember the thrill of getting mine and thinking well that's one that'll never leave me...would never part with mine. Congrats on getting it

Well, I do have an M80 on its way here & that is supposed to be in good shape too. I can't keep both so 1 or the other will be for sale soon. i'm hoping to restore the tape on the M70 & clean the dust out of the speakers & repaint the grills. Removing the grills will be quite the challentge tho.

Can't ever go wrong with an M-70. Congrats. Hopefully someone here can hook you up with the microphone trim you need

I have to agree with every one of you about the sound & build quality. My vintage beats guru down the street showed me his & I cannot believe how HUGE the M70 sounds. I can't even listen to it at full tilt. The horns make my ears bleed & the woofers are loud as FACK too!! I'm crankin' it in my bedroom & it rips my brain out. Put some hard hittin' 808 tracks from the late 70's & early 80's & she roars with a clean edge.

:-D M70 is one among the best boomboxes one can have.

I treasure mine! I have a few but if I can get another one, I will have it. :-D

It is a good cure for the boombox fever!
