Hey guys
I'm new to the forum after discovering the existence of the boombox culture. I've always had something deep in my heart for these wonderful square boxes with speakers. It wasn't until I recently, when picked I up this Jumbo 747, and stumbled upon this forum while trying to find information about it.
I found out about the Jumbo J-747 S, which I'm assuming is the older brother to this box. I saw a post on here from last week about a guy picking up a TBS-1100, which looks to be the exact design as this one, but maybe one company owns the other or had previously bought out the other, who knows.
The main difference I can see between this and the TBS 1100 is that the Jumbo 747 has an echo switch and control (doubled with the mic mix), which is totally sick! I live in Istanbul, and my girlfriend picked it up for me from a boutique shop near our place. It's in great condition aesthetically, but it needs some contact spray and cleaning to get everything working properly again.
Anyways, here's some boombox porn for you:

Glad to have you with us. Istanbul huh? I wish I coud've seen more of Turkey when I stopped over there for a few hours at our Air Base (Air Force). That box is very good looking. I agree with FatDog. The colors and name are unique.
