So today, I'm at the shipping store getting stuff needed to ship 3 huge boomboxes halfway around the world. Congratulating myself at all the space I'll have now that my collection is under 5 pieces.

Guy at the shipping store asks why I need a 6-foot tall bag of foam peanuts. At the mention of boomboxes, he says he just saw a cool one in the online classifieds.

A few text messages, a 10 minute detour on the way home, $60 changing hands and I've got this nifty JVC. Works like new. My first "in the wild" find in years.

Bit of a bargain for such a powerful machine...albeit a pipe rather than a box I'd definitely have bagged that one even tho I don't like the look of them as its got such a good rep...I'm sure it'll blow yer windows out if you turn it up

Thanks guys! I'm listening to it right now - monster bass and loud loud loud! Lots of cool features I'm still discovering.

I wish (like many) that JVC had put REAL tweeters in the Kabooms, but the mid and treble adjustments do really help improve things.

I'm not a kaboom expert but a quick Google search seems to show these EQ settings are unique to the DP 100/200 models.

The scratchpad/drum/sound effects pads are a hoot!!

I had no idea when I went to buy it, but this seems like one of the more unique Kabooms from JVC. Glad I snagged it, and really glad I found it in the wild. Not like getting an M90 for 25 bucks, but I know I got a helluva bargain.
