Is your P.C. clean?

Do you neatly categorize all of the data you collect over time in your P.C.? Are your Folders all mixed up with every kind of anything in all of your folders?Do you backup your P.C.s data? Do you have trouble finding the files your might be looking for? Is your P.C. a bottomless pit of who knows what ? Just how organized and clean is your computer ?
My answer: personally not very

Now if I would only follow my own advice I'd be in good shape, I am only semi clean and semi backed up.

Good topic Jovie.

By the time I have turned a machine into a bottomless pit of who knows what, I get itchy feet and want an upgrade.

So, I have 2 fully clogged PC's and a clogged laptop that the kids use, a semi clogged PC that the Mrs uses, a work laptop that I am hoping I drop soon as its turning into a right dog of a machine.

And for me? Well the last purchase was 3 mths ago, and I bought an iMAC, which I absolutely love (and will not be going back) and am trying desperately to keep it clean.

Hmmm, machine is tip-top in terms of performance and speed (well it would be really, given my profession).

Organisationally, 4 hard disks (approx 2 terabytes worth) of barely organised chaos.

Except my music archive which is kept in immaculate order at all times.

I just finished cleaning the internal of my PC with

CAR WASH PUMP WITH HIGH PRESSURE WATER

Now, my PC is more than a clear, and he don't need to any data categorized or backup

great topic my hard drive crashed not too long ago and I never backed up anything. Lucky itunes gave me back most of my music but there are countless others that I may not get back.

I do however have a few data recorded CD's with some of my music library so that will help some. Data recovery can be expensive it all depends on the GB's I believe.

I have a shopping list of must get which is:

An External Hard Drive (Western Digital) is a good product.

Two compatible DDR 1 GB each for my computer.

One good thing I got a new internal Hard Drive with some cool software hooked up to it thanks to a good buddy of mine at work.

Besides online bill pay,my PC is basically only for cyber-fun purposes.With hard drives becoming so cheap,it's very tempting to buy a massively deep USB external. Though a terrible idea,this can be used as a dump before each reload. In your drive letters,you simply name it "Blackhole". Just dump and reload,pretty easy for the lazy,......right?

In a few years you'll forget what's inside the "Blackhole" and you figure it will take too much time to sort out. Then you'll simply reformat "Blackhole" and start over.Some time later,you'll wonder where all that music you got from Soulseek some time ago ended up.Yes sorry to say this is the story of my life. Just call me Cyber-swine.
