So I've got a National RX-5700 and the knobs are all discolored, kinda like tarnish on silver.Anyone know of some place that can re-chrome them?

Hi Dave! Have you already tried pulling them and doing an overnight soak in warm water with dawn? Could it be nicotine from the previous owner?

Search Molotow chrome pen.The vintage toy and diecast vehicle collectors are using this stuff, make sure you don't use clear coats over it you will lose the chrome effect.I would suggest leaving it sit for 48+ hrs before handling it.I have one here that i will be applying to some repro 3d printed missing switches and knobs for some box's.Also don't buy any other pen but a molotow, those will give you silver and not close to chrome.

I have had great success with this product even works on restoring the tape head path as it has a pickling agent to remove strains and corrosion

I have a 5700 with all knobs in dull gray look. It is in very new cosmetic condition. They made the RX5700 with the dull gray colored knobs.
I don't know if they made the same with chrome knobs.
