Hi Guys,
I've got a question for the learned here at Boomboxery. The labels on the backs of boomboxes always contain various details including the wattage of the unit. Below are 3 photos from 3 different 12 volt DC units. The watt ratings are 15W (JVC RC-727), 30W (Sanyo 9994K) and 36W (National RX-C45). They are all 8 D cell, single deck units with analogue tuners.
I can confirm my JVC RC-727 certainly has less output than my National RX-C45 but I have a feeling the watt rating is only part of the story. I would assume there would be a number of other variables that would affect whether one 30W unit for example would be louder than another 30W unit.
Question: Does this wattage rating form part of your buying decision when considering a boombox?
Any thoughts?
