So, Wednesday I went to the local Swap Meet (every Wednesday). Did the typical walk through and then back through again. There was a small GE, lots of eggs and one cool Tosh Mono (the one with the detachable mic that was, of course missing) that the guy wanted $75 for and it was worked over. Left depressed as always.
On the way back to the car a guy was walking around handing out little fliers for an estate sale for this Thursday - Sunday.
So this morning I dawned my Boomboxery shirt for good luck and headed out to the sale!
I was there as the doors opened.
That's were I nabbed this little power house. She was in a sad state (or in a sad estate
)
It was behind a pile of crap on the washer and drier, almost out of sight, only a professional with a trained eye and years of experience would have seen it

The speakers were detached, one was on a shelf behind some other boxes. One speaker was plugged in and the radio it's self was on, lightly playing music. I didn't bother asking if it was for sale, I re-attached the speakers, grabbed the power cord and loaded it up with the other stuff I was buying and went to the sales table before anyone could say "Excuse me, that's not for sale".
$5.00

Before Clean Up....

After Basic Clean Up....

After the clean up, I gave it a full function test and EVERYTHING works! Both decks, all functions, all radio features and line in, EVERYTHING! The decks are very high quality and this thing sounds AWESOME! It looks as if it has never had batteries in it and is rockin' on batteries right now. For $5.00, this could be my best money / value find yet.
This is also my first Sharp from the QT line and I have to say, I am VERY impressed! I had no idea these things sounded this good. Now I understand why I see so many members collecting and revering these little beasts. It's F'n LOUD too.
However, it's not exactly light! It's like carrying around a cinder block with a handle :nugget: I wouldn't put it in the "Mini" category either since it's 25 1/4 inches long. Not exactly a small radio. But for a boombox with 4 inch speakers, it has really good solid bass.
It just goes to show I have a lot more learning to do when it comes to finding and collecting radios. Following other members leads and trusting in their opinions.
I can see this radio getting a lot of use.

From here on out, I will always wear my Boomboxery shirt while hunting! It brought me good luck today, that's for sure!
