Information On Telefunken cc-9000 Boom-Box

Hello ,

Can anyone give me more information on the Telefunken CC-90000 Boom Box. I know it does NOT take batteries. Kind Of Strange. Does anyone have this model? If so how does it sound? Is it built well? Got on on Ebay with all the belts replaced and supposed to be in near mint condition

This model was sold just overseas

not in Europe. It has no battery box, powers with 120 volts. Here are the other models: Universum Senator 1000, Uher mini-port, Loewe power pack 5000 . The Loewe unit got a smaller amp and is the only unit of those 4 which got a battery pack (in the right speaker!).

Sound is very good - they are little carry combos/home hifi units and they sound like this. The Uher mini-port got the best speaker system (watch out: there are two different typs on the market. The once with the white bass speakers are the lower version) of those 4 units, got the best punsh and sub-bass.

The Loewe pops up every now and then on ebay Germany. Last fully working one sold for 90€.

The sound quality

of the Loewe is not that good as those from the other models. Best one is the Uher with the small speaker system, next to the Universum and the Uher with the big speaker system (white colored bass speakers), followed by the CC-9000 and at the end the Loewe. I'm a fan of these units and got all 4/5 different versions.

Even when the Uher (the rare silver one) got the smaller speaker system, it sounds more powerful - it don't look that cool like the white speakers, but I think the quality of the smaller speakers are higher ...

I don't know if you already own the CC-9000, but if you get it for good money go for it - a realy nice sounding HIFI unit!

I have the Universum HiFi 1000 (Quelle CTR-2615). Good quality wood speakers, with rubber surrounds. Rather small woofers though. If you take the power meter to the 3rd LED, it will distort. These units really need bigger/better aftermarket speakers to rise to their potential.

Right,

the Universum HiFi 1000 got the smallest bass speakers of all 4/5 units - at low volume also a great sounding unit! But - the Universum is the rarest one of those ...
