I used to collect cars, specifically, convertibles, but California has gone completely insane with DMV fee's and insurance costs so I sold them all. Plus, I was raising a family. Now, I'm down to just one and it's really a Targa Top as opposed to a true drop top convertible.

I also used to collect small NASCAR car's, but gave that up too. I still love watching NASCAR though!

Had a decent collection of guitars for a while, but thinned it down to just a handful.

Now it's Blasters, but unlike other crap I have collected, these get out of the house and get used

^what muscle cars?

i used to collect cars too, (ive had 40 or so) but got other priorities now, like wife, kids house etc.

one day before im 50 (9 yrs to go), im going to get a 360 Ferrari Berlinetta (very expensive over here compared to the US)

heres my first ever aussie muscle car - (the coupe), i got a loan from the bank on my 18th birthday :-D

it the same type of car that Mad Max (Mel Gibson) drove in the first two movies (not sure if you guys saw them over there).

its basically 1971 Boss 351c mustang 4 speed running gear in a aussie 1973 Falcon GT coupe.

I also collect old LED digitial watches - Hamiltons - the creator of the first digital watch.

this is my favourite & what im wearing now, but mines a minty

Little known fact about the Mrs FD....I love the roar of an old school big block. 70 Hemi Cuda, 69 Camaro, nearly any late 60's Mustang (my dad and I rebuilt a black 65 way back when)

nice line up!

i had a 69 mustang mach1 for a while, had a great body, but drove real average and only had a gutless 302W & auto.

even that cost $12000 here 10yrs ago!

i progressed on to small awd jap turbo cars, one i had was very 'laggy' but still did an 11.7 in the 1/4 mile

i dont have it anymore, i sold it so we could make a deposit on our first house.

haha that movie is a classic, especially the first 1, but yes my exact type of car in the pic above is what they based the 'interceptor' on :-)

yeah, we didnt get the bigblocks out here, mainly clevo's & SB chevs in the local GM cars.

the GT had a 351cleveland very similar to the 71 Boss 351 stangs.

my awd jap car was a 1986 mazda 323 familia, big turbo, haltech computor 20 psi etc etc, i also had a 1999 mitsubishi lancer evo 6, but that wasnt as quick or modified.
cheers

Are the snakes and spiders as bad in Australia as American TV portrays it? By the way, I wish we had your Prime Minister.

nah, its all hype pretty much - especially if like me you live near the cities - more people die from bee stings & lightning.

we have been having a bad run with fatal great white shark attacks of late tho :-/

a guy from Texas was taken a few weeks ago while diving off Perth & about 2 weeks before that a swimmer was 1/4mile out from a popular beach, but they never found him.
RIP

I was raised in country Victoria and there were many a time I came very close to snakes (Red bellied black, copperhead, eastern brown and tigers)the good thing about these snakes are they avoid humans and also avoid biting people. Au also has all anti venom in reasonable quanity, from memory there has only been 30-40 deadly bies (reported) in the last 20 odd years, who knows what happens when people go "missing" in the bush, so it could very well be higher. You would be more likely to die from a rattlesnake bite in the US, than be bitten at all in Au.

Spiders, not as deadly as they are made out to be. It's rare to have major complications from spider bites and people fear spiders like the redback and Sydney funnelweb, it's largley media hype much like the necrosis from whitetail spider bites that has been proved as myth.

If there is anything to worry about it's what lives in the oceans like whitepointers, saltwater crocs, bluering octopus and the irragangie and other box jellyfish (the jellies rarely cause death) most of these are much more toxic than the land animals.

Now, if you were to be bitten or stung by a venomous critter (includes the platypus) you will be in excrutiating pain for days.

You also have a snake called the Copperhead! This is a very common venomous, fairly aggressive, species in Tennessee. Bites are usually non-fatal though. Timber rattlers are a different story though. We actually have Primitive Baptist churches where venomous snake handling is practiced, even though the practice has been illegal for quite some time.
