Hopefully you read that aloud in the movie voice over voice, because that's how it sounded when I typed it

Anyhoo.....

Most collectors tend to go through phases of things that they collect. Through the years, what non-boombox things have you collected?

For me:

Longaberger Baskets (anybody want some, I have too many)
Vintage Jadite
Vintage Melmac / Melamine bowls

2) LPs of vocal groups from the 1950s / 1960s like The Norman Luboff Choir, Anita Kerr Singers, Living Voices, The Hi-Lo's

I like weird stuff, usually from thrift stores or yard sales. If it's unusual, especially if it's colorful, I like it.
Take these odd looking Chucks. They are brown with a magenta pattern (needing some brown laces my daughter stole :annoyed: )

They are so weird. I've never seen anything like them. They are fun to wear around town. I also have some bright orange Pumas my daughter found for me at a second hand store that looked never used. They are a blast to wear.

sam_1225.jpg

And this weird purse. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? SO WEIRD! Not so practical, but wow. It is vintage. Sometimes I wonder what the story is behind that...

sam_1226.jpg

Then sometimes I like to weirdify something. Take this tree thing I liked: I picked up these crazy holograph sunglasses from Universal Studios. I wanted to display them. What better way to do so than to create Insanitree. He's perpetually petrified.

Most of you saw Sharlene, the mannequin lamp my husband and I put together. Every night someone in the household turns her on. (Hey, she's a lamp, OK?) My husband, Dave, made a photoshop of her surfing here:

She's actually about seven feet tall total.

Yea and goose neck Eq's. I've had the Cerwin Vega Strokers in 12's hooked up to the 1000 and the 650 powering the corners! Then I swapped them for the Hafler's. ADS plate amplifiers etc etc etc. aw the good old days!

awesome , hafler was great stuff i have some hafler midrange speakers . and ads "analog digital systems" made superior products and the power plate amps are still highly sought after .

the stroker is basically as similar to the jbl gti as it gets with the exception of the second adjustable top spider.

Use to collect sport steering wheels. Than slowed down on them. One day dude offered me a good amount of money for most of them and they gone. Left just a few of them and enjoying changing the steering wheels on my race car

Awesome! I like the second and third photos the best. I like it when the spokes are above the centerline.

that's killer stuff jeff :w00t: dynaudio is a top brand for speakers  and those first generation ppi flat piston subs are the best speakers ppi ever made . the standard for sound quality ever in a cd head unit goes to the alpine 7909 which still sells for upwards of $1000 used  not too mention the copper chassis denon pro audio cd head units and of coarse any nakimichi head unit is at the top of the list . i got 2 minty alpine 3522 s amps i'm looking to trade for something as i never use them .

Hi Floyd! Yes these are the cast metal hand made ones they're the
best!
I bet your talking about the Nak TD-1200II!
I remember all the specs from 85'!
there was a Kenwood deck that supposedly had a signal to noise
measurement of 89db with Dolby C then came the Alpine 7347 with
86db!
Then the Nak with I believe around 82-84.
Remember the Blaupunkt Berlin with the gooseneck?!
I had a friend with a Blaupunkt CR-5001 that sounded brilliant!
Yes Floyd we should get together me and you and Scott sometime!
Would be fun. :surf:

:agree: plus i could gab forever about car audio  .

those ppi subs use what's called a flat honeycomb diaphram ,almost exactly like the sony apm speakers ,basically a flat honeycomb sandwiched between two rigid layers of aluminum and or carbon fiber .
