I'm scared!!! I'm realizing that 200 boxes might not be enough!!

With 150 and so many more to get I'll have to set my ceiling to 225!
Oh well-damn collecting!!! I love it though!!!

I'm thinking you need a home that is Oprah sized to display/play all these.

Maybe I'm not a true collector, but I do consider where I'll put my boomers. I don't want them stuck in some closet/shed/storage unit/dark basement wasteland.

You probably have it all under control.

Hi Holly,things aren't to bad right now-I display
around 70 with about 70-80 in nice packaged and
nicely wrapped and labeled in good boxes!

It's just I live in a small house so I can't wait
until I get a bigger place when I can put more
or all on display!

I don't have but 5-10 in storage,I keep my boomers
with me and treat them like babies!!

I want a big living room so I can display my
Sharp GF-line or my JVC RC series!!
Like how you have yours set up!
I keep most all mine in my bedroom as it would
be cluttered if I didn't.

I agree with Holly, I only collect what I can display. I don't see the point of having to store boomboxes in a storage facility and never getting to use them. I have space in my Boom-Room for about 35 boomboxes that can be displayed neat and not stacked on top of one another. I am about 5 boomboxes away from my max. When I get there I won't add another unless I get rid of some to make space. I like being able to see and hear all my boomboxes...

Once I had most of the ones in my list I thought my problem is over. But no way! Very hard not to look for what is out there....and then you find one. The craving never ends...

I struggle with 55+ boxes because I have other collection items like receivers, cassette tape decks, reel to reel tape decks, large speakers (38 pairs) tube radios like the SABA and Philips, RC gas engine cars, planes, copters.. .and get only very little time for BEER...

Numbers are arbitrary and limits are personal choice.
I'd rather see people who love and preserve these boxes collect 200 hundred or more than to have some of them tossed out with this weeks garbage.

I do look at this as a fun thing to have and work
on when I retire!!
Of course working on them and restoring them
is going to continually happen.

As long as things aren't cluttering to darn much

Bobby-I do give my brother a Boombox every few
months!!
He had 7 now he has 15!
He's starting to collect a little himself.
I'm still only at 150-160 so it's good!

I don't think i will ever be done, and no i'm not scared ...i still have a list of boxes to find...locally or within driving distance to me. If i ever get fedup of waiting and looking for these boxes...i will just use e-Bay and buy the ones on my short list...what can i say...I LOVE BOXES

Hopefully this week i will score the TDK 3 speaker box locally...i know it's not oldskool but i have enough of those already

As long as I keep them in my room or the garage and just a few around the house, my wife is cool. Pokes fun at me, but doesn't care.

As I have said to members before, I told myself this year, I was going to fix what I have then buy more. I have been working diligently getting them where I want them. But it's tough, I want to be able to grab any radio I got and roll....I hate saying, "oh, well, I can't use that one cause the input don't work, that one don't work on batteries, that one has no FM" Pisses me off, so I am trying to get that to be my reality....

In the process I have acquired 5 new radio's!

I love collecting to but ihave reached my max due to space.If i want i can squeeze 1 or 2 more but thats really it .....jeff 200 boxes is amazing...great collection you have...for me I like to be able to get to all of my boxes at least once a week...playing tapes moving all the switches ...just don't want them going bad from sitting..
