I can't thank you all enough for the kind words and support. I have a further CAT scan booked for Friday to further examine my throat but I think my croaky voice may be permanent. It's not a sexy/sultry sounding voice I have these days, it's more like laryngitis on steroids! :w00t:

So its been 10 or so months since you stopped smoking. Are you noticing any improvement? I truly hope so.I hope you get better soon. Just remember, Rome wasn't built in a day. It takes awhile. Take care.

I stopped smoking 31st Dec 2017 so 15 months of no smoking. I noticed a marked improvement in my breathing once I stopped and this was very noticeable to me, I suppose it had to be as my breathing was absolutely terrible and feeble at this time. I think what has happened is this: My lungs began to clear once I'd stopped smoking (most recent tobacco smoke etc.) and, at the same time, emphysema set. The two ailments crossed paths at some point with one improving while the became worse so my lungs are now far worse with emphysema than they ever were with smoking and that was bad - with a capital 'F'. :-/

Gosh,I'm sorry to hear about the emphysema. On the bright side congratulations on 15 months of no smoking. That's something to be proud of. I wish you nothing but the best & my thoughts and prayer go out to you.😃😃😃
