Somehow I seem to forget what it is I'm to send...remind me again?
On a serious note, I was getting ready to work on the idler wheel of the cassette deck when the ribbon connector decided it had a hicccup. No power, no signal from the deck. Well, you know what that meant, open the reciever. And as Skip-to My-Lou can tell ya...it's a PITA! There is no real chassis to speak of. It's organized just fine for a unit stuffed with so much in it, it's just that the boards, bottom plate, etc. all tie together to hold it all together. So if you take the top shell off, then the bottom plate, it all now floats precariously. Don't get me wrong, when assembled it's a tank, just a beyotch to disassemble and reverse procedure.
Anyhoo...the ribbon to the deck had a loose connection, not much of a surprise given that the unit is 30 years old and the fact that Sansui had some gear (home/portable) with cold solder joint issues. While I had it out I checked everything else and all is normal again.
Now here is the part that really sucks...I was listening to my Maggie D8643, then switched to the Sharp GX-300. The Sharp was doing fine when all of the sudden I hear excessive static and popping...my Asus TF-700T Transformer Infinity was feeding the tunes via the PowerAmp app so I checked it first. Tablet is fine. Checked the GX-300 on FM...DAMN!!! :annoyed:

The right channel is %$&(#ing up!

:annoyed: Oh well...maybe I can get some that boombox repair crack from Jeff (Ghettoboom) and get on a repair spree!
