Sold a Panasonic RX DT690 a few weeks ago on epay, Radio was tested and fully functional when i shipped it. Now slowly but surely buyer is starting to send emails pointing out this is wrong and that is wrong. Was insured for the full amount with Fedex. I have this ucky feeling that buyer is about to pull some crap on me wanting a full or partial refund. My auction states sold as is with no returns. Should i be worried since it has insurance coverage?

There is now no such thing as 'NO RETURNS' on ebay. Remember this or you will be forced to return something via buyer protection when the user files a claim against you. Then you have a claim against you AND you will be forced to take a return from someone who will be unhappy.

Its best to accept returns to avoid this potential mess... How do I know? Been there done that. Just look at the ebay seller support forum and read the thousands of pages of rants regarding this policy.

Good luck man.

Insurance isn't helpful unless you can prove that a drop or blow is what caused the problem.

Putting "as is no returns" on an ebay listings means nothing. If a buyer wants to pull something or get a partial refund you are pretty much screwed.

says one of tape decks not working properly and right speaker cuts out at 50% max volume. everything was tested and worked fine before it was shipped. i think during shipping it might have taken some hard bumps and dislodged some internal components. like you guys say if he wants a partial or full refund i'm screwed with no lube

Like as if he really needs both decks to work anyway. Who dubs tapes anymore?
Also the speaker thing is probably just a volume control that needs some deoxit.

next time list it as for parts/not working ,i'm pretty sure there's a separate catagory you can list it under that applies to electronics in non working condition. even if its in great shape and fully working list it as a p.o.s and start the bidding at the price you can live with and hope it sells.

just as i thought i open my email this morning and find an email from buyer requesting a partial refund of 60.00 or he says he will open an ebay dispute. i tell you this is the last radio i'm ever selling on there, nothing but thiefs and liars that find my stuff.

Tell him to ship it back and you will refund money. If he has to pay for shipping back he may not want to lose that money and drop it. ;-)
