I bought one waaaaaay back ~2-3 years ago maybe?........and I just got to unpack it to see how it all went. Well, turns out the primary power and one of the secondary wires for the transformer ripped off the board, one of the mounting post broke off the back.....and finally I see it has a sensor similar to the C100, but it doesn't go anywhere......there is a sensor button on the front, the sensor itself, and a whole crap pile of open component areas and header where the sensor would expect to plug in.

Also, it seems that the unit is 220VAC only with a DC 15VDC jack? I don't see a selector switch but it seems one could have been there also? Has anyone tried it or retrofitted it for 110VAC operation?

The schooling, I did some quick searching and it seems that there were options based for this series? Some have alarms, others don't, some have clocks, others don't?........What gives? Is this common for this unit? The unit is Intersound but also rebadged as techsonic also?

Can someone give me some background info on this combination?

Also, does anyone know if a schematic exists for this unit at all?

Thanks
Chris

Good luck Chris!! I've got no knowledge unfortunately, but am in need of the board that sits behind the decks still (hopefully soon from Peter).
However, mine is 110v. Would be happy to trade transformers with you if that's something you're interested in.

Mine's a Torec brand, to add to the list of AKA's.

:-D Welcome back man I haven't seen u here awhile.
Good to know u still.around. I had 4 of them. A Tecsonic, intersound,
And 2 Promax. All were J1 with aka names. Some had clocks, Others
had a stereo button, Others had a disco lite button to turn on/off
the led lites. The Promax was the one with the most bass as the
woofers were 4 ohms & the others were 6 ohms.

Hi Guys,

Wow, didn't realize that there were that many variants of this beast. I'd like to hear the thing, but in no real rush, hell its been stored for the last 3 years or so.....LOL

Gluecifer: Can you take a few pictures of the board from a couple of different angles? Does it have a switch for 110/220, or just 110 only? Does the backplate say 110 only? Maybe a trade would work......:) Let me see what I really have to make sure someone hasn't modified it........(looks like someone may have)

LLopez: Nice to hear from you, doing some house cleaning projects and getting all my acquires in order is part of that todo list.......:) Do you recall any of those that have the sensor in place and switch in place but no where to plug it in?

I just checked, my transformer is set only to 220V so I might take you up on the trade if your serious about it? Is your location 220 I'm guessin?

I kinda bummed there is no alarm and it has a sensor and button that don't do anything.......:(

:-D Hi Kit, I sold all my J1's, But go to the wanted section and see if a member here has a parts J1 with a 120 volts it could defeanetly be changed. I never had a J1 with a sensor on :-D it. Hope u can get your up and working as these boxes are very pretty to look at. I really didn't wanted to sell my last one but needed to get my scooter fix and I had to at the moment.

Glu,if the decks are playing at 100rpm,or eg in high speed dubbing type speed, just change the 4 potentiometres on the board at the back of the decks,2 are 500k,and the other 2 are 1k,change all those and that should cure it

My Tecsonic has 4 ohm woofers...

Rock On.

I had another transformer on hand, I was able to work it into the box and it works great....so that takes care of my power problem, just have get the pot for the tape speed fixed.....and the dial light it seems.

One strange thing about the sensor thing, is if I push the button in, the entire box goes to sleep and the sensor light comes on! But clearly since there are no circuits to run it, it will never activate.

Does anyone have any pictures of the inside with the sensor connected? I'd love to see what I'm missing.

Thanks!
Chris
