When I was young my mom had a smaller 3 piece boombox that I listened to every chance I could.. Taking it over to my neighbors house cranking the tunes!
I remember she sold it at one of our yard sales, I think I even remember her handing it over to the person..
I created a mock-up from memory of what I can picture it looking like, I'm pretty sure its either GE or Panasonic..
Please help, I would like to find one again!

It had knobs for Treble BASS Volume and Balance, and the LED meters were more rectangular without the black plastic around it, just the body color around them..

Maybe a Panasonic RX-C100?

It seems to be that shape and size!
But, it wasn't that fancy.. but not totally cheapo either..
The picture I posted is real close, the tweeters grilles were verticle rectangles and definitely didn't have an EQ.. No sliders, just knobs and the Green/yellow/red LED meters on the right side of tape player..
I just remember the holes on the back of the speakers to hang on the wall and the speaker wire being really long with a little compartment on the back of each cabinet to store the excess speaker wire..

That's a SHARP GX-300. Awesome box. Loud with great bass and finesse. It's on my want list.
That is what I used for my drawing yes, its the closest picture I could find.. Real similar but my moms didn't have sliders, just knobs..

Hey BaddBoyBill, I reworked your picture to what I'm pretty sure it looked like exactly!
Are the speaker wire compartments on the back of the cabinets a common thing?
I'm pretty sure it was a Panasonic... :hmmm: Sizewise about 8" x 20"

Some also wire between speaker and box with RCA jacks  there are some other panny C models around that size ;-)

I have a Realistic Modulare 1000 that looks similar to that shot. I think I'm almost certain that that's it. The LED's are long too!! Doesn't sound bad either. If you can wait till tomorrow I can post up a shot later. You looking to buy it? If its the same one we can make something happen. Let me know.

I found this picture, looks like it belongs to Kenpat.. :hmmm:
It looks like it, but I remember the tweeter grilles being vertical rectangles not horizontal.. and I'm pretty sure there was no black trim on it, just All Silver.. Maybe I'll call my mom tomorrow and ask her, maybe she has a picture with it in the background..
(Like shes really gonna dig through pictures for me  )

They were wired with RCA jacks, grey speaker wire and grey RCA jacks.. and I remember the small square compartments that opened up like a battery cover that fit all the excess wire into.. There was a small groove in the cover that the wire stuck out of when connected..

Whats the back of it look like? Do the speaker cabinets have the "extra wire storage boxes" towards the bottom with a hook on the upper part of the box for hanging on the wall?
It might actually be the General Electric version of that Realistic Modulaire 1000! Either Panasonic or GE..?

Yes it does! The brackets that hold the speakers to the main unit are the speaker contacts. Very slick stuff much like my Technics.
