Guys n gals I need to know, especially from members in states, what do you think these classic cars would/could sell for. I don't want to give descriptions as most should know them. But if your hung up just ask I will gladly do it. This is a little project I'm working on and need all the help I can get

Cutlass (is that convertible?) $8k or $5k if coupe.

nice list, thanks Norm. Also added to price consideration is the state it came from. Rust free Arizona cars vs salt rusted NY cars.
Here in New Mexico, we can park our cars for 30+ years in a field and the bolts still turn like they were new.

Yeah I know there are many different details to look at, engines, trannys, interior original OEM parts or aftermarket. But I'm just looking for ideas with everyone having different tastes. I do know the silver Chevy SS is advertised at $26k and is mostly original parts including 350/350. But more members taking a guess at what they believe price should be would be very helpful

Anyone can shoot for the moon but for me, unless that SS was a 396 or preferably 454, for $26k I'd just chuckle, mutter nice car, and walk on by. Lots of choices when you get to that price range and the ubiquitous and unremarkable Chevy mouse isn't it. Unless we talking the camaro DZ mouse... Flat hoods donning rally stripes just screams wannabe. He'd have a far better chance getting $26k if he would drop a big block in there, bolt on a replica bulgy induction type hood and offer as SS454 L-88 replica. Maybe I'm just flat out wrong and it's an immaculate unmolested orig SS350 but with hood pins and rubber band tires, I'm thinking not so much.

I agree price is way up there. But I do know this guys in the business of selling muscle cars and has done great in past. I would say maybe $16000 would be highest but as I said I'm just looking for opinions. I know everyone has different thoughts. It's actually just like buying Boomboxes. If you want it bad enough you are going to pay premium price I guess

By the way the 75 cutlass supreme is pretty much mint. It's an elderly mans car that was bought new and garage kept with 24000 original miles on 350 rocket motor and 350 Trans. It has swivel buckets and fully loaded

Out of the lot, that's the one I'm most interested in. It's got zero power though because mine had the 455 and felt wimpy with the low comp & smog so the 350 will only be much worse. Still, I love the classy looks although I like the 76-78 body style, especially the t-topped one more (I had both 75 and 76, as well as a 68 442). You buying it and what's he asking?

Not sure what I'm doing. I'm considering an investment. Surprising you had big block and thought it to be slow. I agree the 76-77 Cutlass supreme with ttops was a bad a$$ looking ride in the day.

1975 was amongst the worse smog years. My 455 Cutlass Supreme performed nothing like the other big block cars I've had. My 1970 GS455 Stage 1 Buick had tons more torque. My SS396 and SS454 Chevelles would run rings around the Olds. My 1970 SS454 Monte Carlo was equally big, no maybe bigger than the Cutlass Supreme and the torque was incredible. I don't even want to mention my 427 Vette in the same sentence with the Olds for fear that they are being compared and thus in the same class. Bottom line, I thought it would at least have the same high torque suck your eyeballs back type of "feel" to all the other big blocks I've owned, but it was quite disappointing. However, I loved the styling and those rally wheels and the big boat cruise feel. HP probably was in the 180's range. Compare that to todays cars which can muster that type of power in the subcompact economy class with far far smaller engines and you can see how far we've come. That being said, I would still buy one today without hesitation. Just imagine how it would feel stuffed with a modern fuel injected motor and high efficiency transmission. In fact, stuff a common 5.3 or 6.0 GM motor/tranny from any number of junkyard SUV or pickup truck candidates and you'll instantly convert those classics to reliable powerful and fuel efficient machines.

Bill, check with your state on smog inspections and fees. In some states, if the car did not originally come with smog controls, you do not have to do emissions testing. That will save you $ every year. 1972 or earlier.

With 1960s and early 1970s muscle cars it will be hard to lose money. Just pick one that has been popular over time. Most people lose money because they pick a non original, basic model, and dump a lot of money into it. Clean body (check for bondo with a fridge magnet) , original motor , and good model and you are all set.

I already stuck my neck out here, so why not continue..
Do a google search on "best muscle cars" or "all time best muscle cars" pick from that list. If its not in the top 100 american classics, walk away. It it has new paint but the trunk is rusted out, walk away. This is for an investment so you do not want to get stuck with something you cant resell fast..

Its like boomboxes; restore the rx7200 (pontiac GTO 1967), leave the sony cfs1000 (1976 duster) for later.

Thanks for info guys I guess I can tell you guys that my questions concerning prices are due to the fact that I might be starting a small business by buying muscle cars and hot rods at auction type prices and selling for profit. I've been talking with a gentleman who has been selling these for years near Ohare and we have discussed me investing in a few cars and selling through him with him getting a small cut for advertising, etc... I'm skeptical about doing it this way as in a way I don't trust him 100%.

But funny thing was today I found a 2002 Lincoln Navigator 40' Limo for sale pretty cheap and am also considering in buying it and starting my own limo service as well. So I would do this and buy 2-3 muscle cars and sell them from my house too.

1970 charger 440
67 mustang inline 6 cyl.
5 monte carlo's most 5.0 1 was a big block and 1 had a 350.
2 camaro's
77 grand prix 400 big block
another grand prix i bough from my boss but i don't remember much about except it was extremely nice.
69 caddy sedan deville 472 cu big block v8. that car was awesome.

the ones i didn't wreck i sold for too little or both lol.

the stance of that ss is making me puke in my mouth . on the other hand the orange duster is a bad some bitch.
