Not that I would know, but I'm pretty sure Lasonics would help you score chicks WAY more than any M70 would

You want the REAL DEAL on the M70? It's an overhyped weak bass having boring-ass looking box... PERIOD

If mine didn't have the supercool & rare carrying bag, I probably wouldn't have bought it.

Overhyped, probably
"weak" bass, possibly
boring? gotta disagree - I like the look of the M70, classic boombox

The M70 is an excellent box for taking outside. Solid, loud, easy to carry, line-in on the side which I prefer and lasts long on batteries.
So its popularity is really not unjustified. They do sell for somewhat too much but that's just because every noobie comes across the fact that you can't go too wrong with an M70 pretty fast.

MONO hates all the classic boxes!

Gotta defend the M70. I traded a brand new 975 for my M70 and I have never looked back. Seriously, that box is so nice!

No box with dual volume sliders deserves to be called the "gold standard" :-P
Dual volume sliders are difficult to set right if you're indoors and listening at low volume, and you want to make sure the balance is correct.
I guess if you're outdoors and just blasting it, it doesn't matter.
But seriously, a knob is so much faster to use, and doesn't break as easily as sliders do.

I don't hate the M70 or the 777... Now that I own an M70 and a variation of the 777, I just don't see what the big deal was...
From a sound perspective, they're 2 of the most disappointing boxes I've ever spent money on.

The 920 maybe, but the 918?!?!?!?! No way man  .

it's all good man , i just don't see a reason too have a carbon copy of every collection here ,the bottom line been there done that . i sold lots of boxes most people would kill for , i regret selling a few, if i regretted selling the m70 it would only be for monetary reasons ,because at the end of the day i can live without the m70 .
Prettied up my M-70 and sold it. :-O
Owned it six months and was never happy w/ the sound.
Put one of Joe's straps on it along w/ a :superduper: light kit and made almost $200.00 on :ebay: 'cause I got it cheap.

I guess I have to agree w/ (gulp) Mono. :angelic:

Yeah that muddiness on the low end of the 777 is hard to ignore....and playin the m70 at high volumes is quite a let down....
I just have so many other boxes id rather listen to with minimal adjustments.......i'll take my lasonics, my clairtones, my scr-8, and my m90 over those two any day....

Thank god I thought it was just me.....I frikn love my 777 but really expected it to blow my TRC 935 out of the water but no way.... That 935 just seems like a torquee V8 Just efortless to perform whereas the 777 seems to be a turboed 4 haha fast but way to forced :-O

On the first day of auto mechanics class our teacher told us "There is no replacement for cubic inches"

The 777 may have 4 speakers but they are 6 inch diameter. The 931/975/935/951 has 8 inch speakers and they move the air!

I like my 777, but the 935 see's far more action....

If anyone is lucky enought to have both the 777 & 767 you should find the sound from the 767 is warmer more bassy and it's louder
Me a bailey have a 777 ready for a car speaker sound improvement and amp increase

Hi Shane,I have to concur that I agree-the 767
has a warmer and a little better sound.
But my 777H is nicer at low volumes!
I have the 777Z,777H,& the 767. :-) :agree:

I agree with this statement 100%.

But here's another fire starter: I gave away my M90 with the remote. I didn't see what the big deal was. My Promax was louder and so where my Conion's. Even my Toshiba Wx-1 was a bit louder. Call me crazy but I just didn't bother with it.

Though the WX-1 wighs twice as much
Gotta agree though, there are louder boxes and boxes with deeper bass. But again the M90 is loud, got rather good bass and is easy to carry around. Good box to take out. Only then you might risk it receiving damage and losing $$$ value
