Hello there,

I am a new member and happy to be.

I found my clairtone 7980 ... :-/

You could see that is damage a little bit but not too bad.
I am looking for somebody who could help me to repair. :hmmm:
When i plug in the radio the only thing that work is the light of the tuner...

By the way i am from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Have a good day

So, you say it powers up....
Do you hear any static noise? Do the red LEDs go on for a moment?
If not, does the alarm work?

If no functions and no alarm works, your amp is probably fried which means you would have to get a spare parts unit.

If only the alarm works, you may have the same problem like I do so if you get it fixed, please tell me what it was. I am desperate over two of my Conions for almost a year now :-/ .

If you are really lucky, it probably only needs some deoxit and you are ready to go...an indicator for that case would be the analog needle VUs showing a line signal (if it shows battery when set to tuner, it is sadly not a life sign for it since mine do that too)

Some pics would be nice

Oh, and welcome to the forum! :-)

I don't know where i could get parts.

Thanks

I will be parting out a Conion C100F soon which is exactly the same from the inside as your Clairtone.
I could send you a functional amp board with installation instructions.
Heck, I could even send you a nice front case with intact aluminum trim ;-)

I don't believe it's an amp issue. Problem is without a scheme it will be hard to tell. I would first start by cleaning with deoxit or contact cleaner the power switch. To do this you must take unit apart. Spray small amount into hole in switch and work switch 20-30 times... Also have you tried both decks and line in as well. And also try batteries in unit. Also does power light by switch light up?
