as everyone saw or knew, solid member NZboom was trying to sell his collection. didnt happen. then he offered me some. made an offer i couldnt refuse. so many choices, this is what i got, plus few extra things
few new tapes and a nice reel cassette.
think this is a NZ made radio. Fair Mate RD 1216. very clean works perfectly
this little Toshiba RT 8490 BomBeat 11. cool little radio, works perfectly. looks good with my BomBeat 14.
nice Hitachi TRK 8190. deck not working but still cool.
Sharp GF 575. nice and clean, works perfectly.
awesome National Panasonic RX 5150. little bit ruff but works perfectly. its my first with Ambience. sounds wicked in that mode. great sounding radio. loving it.
this almost mint Aiwa TPR 985. got a tiny dent on top. packs a punch, great sound for its size. works perfectly.
JVC PC 55. blows my mind how beefy this sounds. seriously loud. needs new belts but great either way.
this is quite rare apparently. Crown SZ 4100. very basic, eq sliders move in 2s, only Rec/Eject on 1 deck. sounds alright tho.
and now for the glory grail. when Craig first rung me and said i could get some, he said "you want my Crown 970" yes! i want your Crown 970. so in short. i now have a Crown CSC 970. tape motor burnt out. everything else fine. amazing how good these sound. i cant stop using it. its definitely jumped straight to the top of my collection.
now just to rub it in. 3 weeks ago this appeared on our auction site. at a 1/3 of the price i paid for my first 1. couldnt push buy now fast enough. now iv got black and silver Crown CSC 850s.
I have also finally made a shelf to hold some of my better boxes. still need a couple more to get everything nicely stacked.
