There is one Lasonic I wish I would have bought when I had the chance. I thought member Monolithic bought it off eBay, so I didn't bid against him and it turns out he didn't buy it. It was the TRC-915. I have never seen one since. It's a stereo box, put more primitive than the 918.

I still need the 931, but I have:

I have seen this model at the Lasonic factory. Even though it's a Lasonic, I have told myself NO CD players. I know myself, if I start down that path I'll be in trouble!

Still, great price, $77.77. That's a rare one!

:agree: Gotta agree with JVC Floyd, I love mine to death because it was my 1st LEGIT boomer back in the day as a teenage kid, Its a classic, and always turns heads whenever its hits the street with me. I wish I still had my original one from back then. I love ALL the Lasonics, but I've always been into the shiny chrome look even with my cars, so maybe thats why. The chrome has always caught my eye. Cant go wrong with the 931 in the Boombox stack thats for sure :thumbsup:

And since we have totally hijacked Joe's thread, I will tell you that....

The very next day after finding the calculator radio show website and then S2G I went to my local thrift / junk store and found this very Lasonic. I was bummed the second speaker wasn't there and I turned that place upside down. I don't know why I keep it. I know I will never find that other speaker. Last year, I put a subwoofer in my MR2. I bought a factory subwoofer enclosure on eBay and was waiting for it to arrive, so I put that lone Lasonic in the back of the car to "Test" the amp and system. DUDE! It hit so hard I almost didn't bother with the one I bought. I just wish I had the other speaker, I bet this radio thumps! BUT, I will probably never know. A few years back I saw one listed for sale on eBay with a group of 20+ radio's being offered all in one. That's the only time I have ever seen one. Pre-CD, Post-Good Stuff. Oh well, back on the shelf in the garage!

It's hard to pick my favorite Lasonic but the 931 really does it all. Big, hits hard, sound is right up there with the 935, just a good all around box and LOOKs the part!

The only time I have gotten to spend with a 931 was seeing Melly's. His was PERFECT out sounded outstanding, but it was a quick blast and then onto the next radio. I love my 935 the most of the big Lasonic's so if you think the 931 is close to that, then I am sold. The only thing that is tough with the 935 or any big blaster of that size is it's tough to navigate crowds or tight spaces. Even getting through doorways can be tough. So to have that much raw power in a big, but not JUMBO box would be nice to have.

I hae a few radio's that are the same size, but don't put out the power.

Great video, skateboard's and boomboxes are like peanut butter and jelly.

Looks like that Unisef had no problem filling that space with music

I'm enjoying all the comments on this... Makes me feel good for having a 1st and 2nd gen 931... and I just picked up another 2nd gen locally for my sister's boyfriend that wanted one... I still have yet to post any pics of mine I think. I really need to.

I'm surprised at the differences between the two 2nd Gens... One is definitely "cheaper" than the other. I personally love these black boxes, I've yet to see any that weren't 931's. I always hear the black boxes are empty, I'd like to see the differences inside a few different AKA's.

Never seen one in my life in person, but boy, these look really cool ! TRC-931 looks just perfect to me, very iconic Lasonic ! :thumbsup:
