Went out today boombox hunting...i saw the NICEST Lasonic TRC-931 you have ever seen...even with the original sticker on the door...it was MINT MINT MINT. It was all functional, except for the switch for the AM/FM/SW switch that was stripped. I've never seen a cleaner Lasonic in my life...beautiful :-O . Seller wants $375 firm for it, so if anyone is interested i could pick it up for you and pack it and ship it to you.

I also came across 2XC-100's (Clairtones), 1 of them rough shape missing cassette door, storage tray, antenna clip broken on the top, plus a cracked tuner lens and a whole through one of the woofers. Both decks weren't working, but the radio was loud and clear on FM & line in, the 2 VU meters worked and the fm green stereo light and the 2 sets of red meter lights also worked well...seller wanted $200 for it so if anyone is interested i could get that for you.

The 2nd C-100 (Clairtone), was all pretty much in tact, but missing the storage tray at the bottom. The rear casing is yellowed/discolored, but the sound was great. I think both tape decks also worked and played ok...i can't quite remember  . That one was $400, so if anyone is interested let me know i could get that one for you.

I also scored 2 BEAUTIFUL boxes for myself...a DEAD MINT fully functional TRC-975 (like new), and a MINT J1 Jumbo...only issue on the J1 was a small cracked/broken foot underneath, but apart from that MINT.

I also scored a beautiful, and fully functional Sears 20641, it's a 3 piece box with amazing looks and sound. That's about it...sorry i didn't bring my cam so no pics...if anyone is interested in the 2 C-100's (Clairtones) or that DEAD MINT Lasonic TRC-931 shoot me a PM :-D

Where the hell do you live..... in HEAVEN?!?!?!

That was my thought before I even finished reading. :-O
Nobody lives anywhere that they can pick and choose between J1's, C-100's, TRC-931's, TRC-975's, etc...
I can't help to think your day must have sucked if you didn't find any M90's or Wheely's. :weed:

I'm so shocked by this that I'm thinking he must have somehow found a flea market that's still in the 80's, there weren't any digital cameras back then.

It was quite the day indeed  . I can't stop thinking about that 931...it would be next to impossible to find a better one...how long will the 3 boxes last where they are that i left behind :hmmm: I almost fainted when i found the J1 & 975...my armpits were drenched on my way home  . I have to say, that finding boxes in the wild is THE BEST...leaving them behind is the hardest :-)

BTW, all PM's responded to ;-)

the 975 and the J-1 are pretty big boxes...if they are in your way, I'd be willing to take either off your hands  That sound like quite the day. Where are you located?
