They are very close... :hmmm: Wild super stripped down model....I'm sure SUPER RARE! You gotta save this thing  :-D Even if it's just to sit on the shelf and look pretty :smooch:

Are there allot of AKA's with these Bolt Boxes?

I have seen left and right volume sliders (which suck!) but never knobs....that's just lame

HOWEVER....I bet the missing push bar below the cassette deck keys is the same as the Lasonic 920 and if you need one, let me know. I have a spare and would LOVE to donate it to the rebuild of this icon

Thank god you got the EQ graphics

Looking at the deck on Jummy's Bolt Box, it looks like the TRC-920. The counter, the keys and push bar are the same. If they are, I wonder if you could swap in a 920 deck? I have 2 :w00t:

Hmm this is yet another variation of the Bolt Box
Very interesting.. I'd say this is a later model, with the 5 band EQ and stripped down
other features.

It's obviously an AKA of another box, I'd be having a hunt around for another box with the same
control lay out on top and then swapping them out. That's got to have been used a few models.

She's still a rockin score, Joe!

I'd even be looking at doing a custom Bolt Box BT out of her. Lose the deck, replace the internals entirely, new
speakers, replacee the deck with a dock.. could be specatacular!

Rock On.

I also have a parts box 922 here that has a similar EQ, keys, metal bar, etc...... I might have enough with Jimmy's parts to finish it up.

Had a little time today to tear this boomer apart. Wanted to fit some parts that Jimmy sent me and see if I could fix the tuner string. Gave it a quick bath, fixed a small crack, broken screw post, built a EQ slider, tied the tuner string back together and aligned the tuner needle. It actually sounds really good! The cassette mech's must have changed throughout the different models because the cassette door I got from Jimmy doesn't really attach to my bolt box. Suprisingly though the cassette FF/RW and does play but it is really slow playback. Radio tuner is strong and captures FM really easy.

I also drilled the front case and added the cassette key crash bar protector from my 922 parts box. Had to bend it a little but it looks good on there.

After I figure out what to do with the cassette area, I will finish the broken foot and repaint the case.

Can't believe I just now saw this thread. Thought it was new. Was about to post dibs on the tuner after reading the first page. After reading all the way to the end, I can see now that I might have to wait til Ira gives that box the salt water treatment before the dibs ever gets excercised.
